Our Second Mid-Month Weekend Commenting Challenge #SOL18

Finding a place to write and widen your inner writing lens can be a challenging task. As you have been finding the time to write each and every day this month, I wonder if you’ve noticed that lens expanding. Do you make your writing a priority now, more than you did before? What gifts are you receiving by noticing? Just as important, what are you noticing about the writers who are linking right along with you? A big part of the SOLSC Challenge in March is making time to comment on the noticings of those in the community. Reading and sharing our connections with each other is often a motivator for any writer, but especially if you are feeling a mid-month slump.

Are you ready to get re-energized? I hope so because you made it beyond the halfway mark of the writing challenge and it’s time for a commenting challenge with a big prize!

This weekend, we have a life-changing opportunity as we offer the second mid-month challenge of the 11th Annual SOLSC.

The prize for this Commenting Challenge is donated by the Highlights Foundation. The mission of the Highlights Foundation is to improve the quality of children’s literature by helping authors and illustrators hone their craft.

Kent Brown, executive director of the Highlights Foundation, is pleased to offer one of our writers the opportunity to attend a Highlights Foundation workshop. The prize donation will cover the tuition of any one workshop in 2018. Meals and private lodging are included. Complimentary shuttle service from a nearby airport is also provided.

I’ve selected a few below for your perusing pleasure. However, there are many more workshops listed on the site.

May 12–May 17, 2018
September 9–September 12, 2018

Stacey and I have both have had wonderful experiences at the Highlights Foundation. Read about Stacey’s discoveries at the Unworkshop experience and the Picture Books are Art Forms workshop. You can also read about my unforgettable experience at The Picture Book Academy. We hope reading these posts will inspire you to comment all weekend long for your chance to win one of these amazing experiences.
