My husband (that feels cool to write) took this photo of me on our honeymoon. He captured me writing an entry, on the beach, in my writer’s notebook. I think this picture is significant because it shows me living like a writer, which I ask my students to do (on a daily basis). It shows that even I’m on vacation I’m taking the time to write. No one told me what to write about… naturally I was writing a lot about my wedding in my notebook while I was away. Nonetheless, I made the time to write daily, thereby practicing what I preach.
This is definitely a picture I’m going to be sharing with my students today as I return back to school. I think it shows that even when no one is telling you to write, you write because you want to and because it’s good for you!
