Practice What You Preach

My husband (that feels cool to write) took this photo of me on our honeymoon. He captured me writing an entry, on the beach, in my writer’s notebook. I think this picture is significant because it shows me living like a writer, which I ask my students to do (on a daily basis). It shows that even I’m on vacation I’m taking the time to write. No one told me what to write about… naturally I was writing a lot about my wedding in my notebook while I was away. Nonetheless, I made the time to write daily, thereby practicing what I preach.

This is definitely a picture I’m going to be sharing with my students today as I return back to school. I think it shows that even when no one is telling you to write, you write because you want to and because it’s good for you!

  1. congrats stacey… it is wonderful when you can call your partner your husband. it’s really neat when you introduce them as your husband! LOVE THE PHOTO- you are what you preach! thanks for this post.

  2. Congratulations on your wedding! What a great picture to share with your students. I think it is such a positive thing when we can share bits of our lives as examples for our students. Have a great week!
