Two Writing Teachers has become more than just a blog I have worked on with Ruth for the past five years. From the comments readers leave to the weekly & month-long Slice of Life Story Challenges to the interaction we have with other educators on Facebook and Twitter, Two Writing Teachers feels more like a community to me. Thanks to YOU our stats show we’ve received more than 2,000,000 hits as of this morning!
I continue to have my thinking pushed by readers who leave comments. I enjoy Slice of Life Tuesdays since they give me the chance to peek into other educators’ classrooms and lives. I love attending and presenting at conferences since it gives me the chance to connect with people I’ve come to “know” online.
I am thankful for every person who has found their way to our blog. I’m thankful to those who have offered advice, inspiration, kind words, and support through the years. It’s because of you, our readers and fellow educators, that we continue to blog day after day. Thank you for helping us to reach this special occasion in our blogging lives.
Whether you’re a frequent commenter or someone who often stops by without commenting, would you leave a comment today? We’d love to recognize you as a part of our community. (And, if you have a blog we don’t know about, please leave your URL so we can connect with you.)

Two million! What an amazing milestone! I found your blog at just the right moment in my life when I was feeling like I had the basics of teaching writing in my toolbox but something was missing…something big and important. I have grown so much as a teacher and writer because of the wise words I read on your blog. I have so enjoyed becoming a weekly slicer (even if I have slacked this school year) through the encouragement of a friend and then to have you both leave such wonderful comments on my writing. It has made all the difference and has encouraged me to continue to learn and dig deeper with my thinking. Thank you both and I wish you continued success!

Congratulations on this terrific milestone! I plunged in last spring and wrote daily for slice of life during the month of March after lurking around the blog for some time. What a community I discovered! Tuesdays are now my favorite day of the week. I’ve continued slicing each week. TWT and the community I encounter here encourage me to be a better teacher and to call myself a writer! Thank you so much!

I am so grateful for this site, for Stacey and Ruth, and for all the wonderful individuals that meet up here! Frequently when I pull up my Facebook page, I find daily professional development or words of life wisdom at my fingertips through links to posts on this site. Additionally, weekly slicing provides me with a structured outlet (in a busy teaching world) to focus on living life as a writer so I can be a better teacher of writing. The slicing community is a blessing! Thank you TWT for helping me to become a better person and a better teacher! You have made a difference in my life!

I was struggling in the classroom and some how I found your blog. I was hesitant to join the monthly slice of life challenge, but I did it and I have no regrets. It was a fantastic experience and since then I regularly join the weekly slice of life challenge. It is an amazing opportunity to get positive, personal feedback from complete strangers. I frequently share the experience with my fourth graders and they are impressed. Thank you and congratulations!

Stacey, you may not remember this, but a few years ago through email you encouraged me to start a blog. I did, because of your encouragement. So much learning, reflecting and growth has come out of the experience. You and Ruth, your always positive comments on my slices and other posts, they have meant so much. Your blog has enriched my life and spreads to the people I interact with everyday when I share my findings. Writing and finding passion through teaching writing has made me better in every part of my life. Thank you and congratulations to both of you!

Congratulations! I’m exhausted just thinking about all you both find time to do. Speaking of finding things, I count finding this blog through twitter contacts as one of the professional treasures I’ve discovered over the past two years. Doing the SOLC and “meeting” so many engaged, joyful, thoughtful teachers and librarians here has enriched my work life – and my personal life. Wish I was attending NCTE and could see folks there. Many thanks for all you do!

What a wonderful stat! Congratulations and I say thank you from my heart. I am so thankful that I found your blog three years ago! Your words have helped me to develop an understanding of writing. I did not see myself as a writer, nor did I feel confident that I could teach anyone about writing. You changed that. I am forever grateful for all I have learned here and hope to learn, every time a new post is added. I tell everyone that they need to be reading and following TWT if they want to be better teachers of writing. You impact many!
