Words that are Speaking to Me

“In a perfect world everything would be either black or white, right or wrong, and everyone would know the difference. But this isn’t a perfect world. The problem is people who think it is.”

― Neal Shusterman, Unwind

Since I put Neal Shusterman’s books in the hands of three different middle school kids today, I think it is only fitting to share some words from him. I love it when authors rescue readers.

  1. Lots of my 8th grade students are walking around with Shusterman books in hand too! In fact, I just talked with a group of students about the difference between what Shusterman causes us to think about through the story of Unwind vs the story of its sequel UnWholly.

I love your phrase, “rescuing readers.” It’s good to have a hand in that kind of work!
