I figured by now I would have time to write a post reflecting on NCTE. However, I apparently forgot (once again) that there are a limited number of hours in a day. The post will have to wait. Instead, here is a brief list of highlights.
- Laurie Halse Anderson, Katherine Patterson, and David Levithan hosted a session on censorship that was thought-provoking as well as inspiring.
- Twitter continues to amaze me and be my best venue for professional development. I love the way it adds a new dimension to conferences. Check out my feed — you don’t have to have an account to read feeds. Also check out the NCTE11 Twitter feed.
- I had the best time collaborating with Patrick, Troy, and Stacey. I am humbled to be part of this group discussing how our adult lives as readers and writers influences our teaching lives. I’m looking forward to seeing where the beginning of this conversation will take us.
That’s all. It’s been a long day and I’m ready to crash.
