Hooray! Hooray! Today’s the 100th Day!!!

I used to think the 100th Day was bogus (when I started teaching).  I didn’t get it (probably because I never celebrated it as a kid).  However, as the years went on, I’ve grown to LOVE the 100th Day of School.  I have soooo much planned to do today, which includes a Poetry Friday Poem about the 100th Day of School from Whitehead’s Book.

Welcoming the kids in the morning is this fabulous ribbon banner, which was created by a fabulous Etsian:

Next, the kids are going to see the following chart & tentative schedule:

As you can see, the day is jam-packed with literacy and mathematics-based activities. Today’s my seventh “100th Day of School” as an adult… and I’m growing to love it more and more each year. 🙂

  1. I miss celebrating the 100th day of school! When I taught kindergarten, we would have Zero the Hero (one of the 5th grade teachers dressed up) visit our classroom. He would sing and count to 100 with the students. At the end of his visit he would read aloud “The Wolf’s Chicken Stew” by Keiko Kasza.
