Today is my first day of work. I found comfort in this post over at the Cincinnati Library’s Blog, Turning the Page, since it discusses the book Mr. Ouchy’s First Day of School. I’ve got to get my hands on this since I think it’s important for kids to realize that teachers aren’t the only ones who have first day jitters.
The kids don’t start school until September 4th, but we have two weeks of professional development (aka: a Summer Institute), which begins today. I’m in a new city, starting a new job, and I have to admit, I am definitely a little nervous. I’m sure everything will go fine, but you know how people find comfort in writing? Well, that’s kind of why I’m posting right now.
Before I close, just wanted to share a link to poems for and about teachers. Click here to read some adorable school poems.
