Slice of Life Story Challenge

Day 31 of the March SOLSC #SOL24

You made it! I hope you’ve found as much joy, fulfillment, and purpose in writing every day this month as I have. Being part of the Slice of Life community is a special place, and on behalf of the Two Writing Teachers co-author team, I want to thank you for writing, sharing, and giving every day this month. Don’t forget to come back every Tuesday to write on Slice of Life Tuesdays!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ready to bring your students into the Slicer community? The April Classroom Slice of Life Story Challenge begins tomorrow. See the overview post for more information, and make sure to sign up!

BE INSPIRED

Our final inspirational post of the month comes to us from Beth Sanderson with a poem she wrote called “Unburdening.” The entire poem is beautifully written, but this line in particular caught my eye:

I do not need objects
to revisit a lifetime of memories

This line embodies the writing we’ve done this month–committing special moments in our lives to memory through the process of writing them down and sharing them with one another.

  1. On the last day, which is also Easter, I offer you the lily-of -the-valley. I have been so enriched by this adventure. Thanks to TWT for encouraging to write every day. I am hoping to take the poems and photographs and self-publish a little book. And I am so grateful to all the slicers. Thank you for reading, and I love each and everyone of the slices I read. I will keep reading, and I wish I could have read them all! https://wordancerblog.com/march-sol-poems-for-spring/

  2. It may not be the makings of a “This I Believe” essay, but I believe that pantyhose, not bras, are the most torturous item of women’s clothing.  https://raisealithuman.wordpress.com/2024/03/30/pantyhose

I want to express my gratitude to all the Slicers who have taken the time to read my slice-of-life stories throughout the previous month. I am genuinely thankful for your kind words of encouragement, helpful tips, and amusing comments.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the TWTBlog team, who have shown remarkable dedication and put in tremendous effort throughout this month-long writing challenge I have hosted alongside them. Your hard work and commitment have made this challenge a success, and I am grateful for your contributions.
