Slice of Life Story Challenge

Day 14 of the March SOLSC #SOL24

Today is the fourteenth day of the 17th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! I am happy to host for the next few days as we progress through the challenge.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

I’d like to say that Slicing helped me as a writing teacher, but really…it was comments that changed me. I’d never had an experience where people talked or thought about my work, and it was the first time I saw myself as a writer. Engaging with others is the single most powerful thing that builds community during this challenge.

  • Are you usually a blog post “like”-er? Challenge yourself to leave a comment on another Slicer’s blog.
  • Already a regular commenter? Challenge yourself to structure a comment that’s similar to the form used. You’ll have fun – and inspire others around you!
  • Do others leave comments for you? Get in the mix and respond right back!
Don't lurk, engage! Leave abundant comments on fellow Slicers' blog posts to make the most of the challenge.

Many thanks to our Slicer Troubleshooting Team, Glenda Funk, Fran McCrackin, Joanne Toft, and Peter von Euler, who helped out for the past week! Be sure to visit their blogs if you haven’t already.

BE INSPIRED

Want to see the power of comments? Fran Haley of Lit Bits and Pieces recently posted a slice entitled Q: What to write now? It’s all about using WordPress prompts to determine a writing topic. Those who know Fran’s writing are well familiar with the way it sparkles.

But I’d like you to pay special attention to the comment section. The folks who visit are thoughtful and insightful, sharing meaningful ideas and connections. Fran continues the conversation in return. It’s a thing of beauty. I’d encourage all to visit, and comment on other Slicers’ blogs in the same spirit.
