The Power of Toolkits: From the Archives

During a recent professional development session, I shared many of the resources in my toolkit. The teachers had a lot of appreciation and excitement for what came out of my bag, and their reactions inspired me to pull some of the past posts we’ve done about toolkits. Enjoy!

Beth Moore wrote about what’s in her toolkit in this post, My Conferring Toolkit: Our Favorite Things Blog Series. It may inspire a weekend project!

Stacey Shubitz share ways to add digital elements to a toolkit in her post, Easily Create a Digital Conferring Toolkit.

This is the Year I’m Going to Make Writing Toolkits was part of a blog series, and it led to Kelsey Sorum and my collaboration on The Responsive Writing Teacher. Kelsey’s videos and step-by-step instructions are inspirational.

Everyone loves resources that make life a little easier, and Dana Murphy’s post, Conferring Toolkits: Cheat Sheets, has many resources that were great in 2015, and are still super useful today.

Many of these posts are from blog series, and I recommend all of the other posts that were parts of those series. Toolkits make teachers more efficient and effective almost every time they go to teach. I am constantly re-envisioning and refreshing my own, and I found many ideas by going through the archives!
