Today is the fifth of the 16th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! It’s also my final day hosting. Sarah Valter will take over for the next few days. Five other co-authors, Amy Ellerman, Morgan Davis, Betsy Hubbard, Jenna Komarin, and Beth Moore, will host the challenge later this month.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Start thinking about bringing your students into the Slicer community. Put the 11th Annual Classroom Slice of Life Story Challenge, which happens in April, on your radar. See the overview post for more information. Sign up here when you’re ready!

BE INSPIRED
We are excited to host several Slicing Workshops throughout the month this year. These meetings are open to anyone in the community, and we especially hope that new slicers will join one or two of them! For more information, please refer to this explanation or start with Melanie Meehan’s video explanation.

Yes, it sure is only a number. I don’t ever mind sharing my age. In fact, most years, I round up to mentally prepare my brain for the next year’s number. For me, staying active is what helps me not feel like I’m old or my age.

Re-inventing oneself after great loss, in my case, divorce, takes courage and makes one vulnerable. Recovering from invisibility, damage to esteem and self-worth, one is tempted to believe that it is all deserved and that hope for anything else is impossible.
