In her seminal book, Bird by Bird, Ann Lamott reminds us that being a writer cannot be about perfectionism. Being a writer means living a life through which you dance or run joyfully, not worrying so much where your feet are landing. She once said,
I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won’t have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren’t even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they’re doing it.
Ran away from my blog and my Poetry Month project for a few days. I’ve decided to come back. https://girlgriot.wordpress.com/2019/04/23/another-beautiful-life-taken/
