Welcome to Day 18 day of the 12th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge! Please check out today’s announcements and the “Be Inspired” post and quote before you leave the permalink to your slice of life story.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
In case you missed this information when we posted it earlier this month, here are some helpful tips for finding other slicers who live in the same time zone as you!
Here are two links that may help you if you are someone who lives in a time zone other than the Eastern Time Zone.
Each of these tools should assist you if you are having difficulty finding your personal 24 Hour Slicing Window based on your location.
BE INSPIRED
Looking to play around with voice in your writing? Joanne Toft, who blogs at Words From JL uses a great combination of short and long sentences and range of punctuation to bring her story to life — you might use her writing as a mentor. She writes about the anticipation of a snow storm (and snow day!). You can read her post here.
Also, listen to Kwame Alexander read from Swing. He has said in other interviews that his writing is inspired heavily by music (perhaps like many of you?). Notice his use of short and long phrases, and how his writing is infused with music.
