For many teachers and students, this week marks the beginning of SUMMER BREAK. HOORAY! If you’ve already been in summer mode, lucky you! If you still have a few days (or weeks) to go, enjoy those last couple days of the school year!
Summer is a great time to start joining us every Tuesday for our Slice of Life Story Challenge. If you’re new to our community, you’ll love reading what other educators have written — these are not just links to whatever was already on our professional blogs for the day. These are little pieces of creative writing. We are teachers practicing what we preach! Just write a story on your own blog, post a link to the story in the comment section here. Then be sure to comment on at least three other stories.
Join us!

Just decided to take the official plunge into ‘Slice of Life’ writing.

I was doing really well but lately I’ve been struggling with my addiction to self-harm. I haven’t done it in over 260 days which is great but I think about it all the time.
This poem is partially about that and partially about how I have so many thoughts in my head I want to get out but I can’t seem to get them down on paper in poem or painting.
