My Last Day in New York City

It rained today. Hard. Really, really hard. I had to run the windshield wipers on the highest setting just so I could see out. Hence, I didn’t do everything I had hoped to do today.

I actually went to H&H on the Upper East Side this afternoon for lunch. However, it was raining so hard that I didn’t take my camera. Therefore, I snapped a photo of the H&H on the Upper West Side this evening so that I could remember that I tried going there today.

I really wanted to go to Grom. Fortunately, that was a reality. I had Stracciatella Gelato, which was divine, albeit expensive ($6.25 for a teeny cup — pictured).

Two friends, Jordi and Carrie, who are both bridesmaids in my upcoming wedding, joined me at Grom.

Next thing you know, we sauntered over to Buttercup to find it was closed at 9:15 p.m.! 😦 I guess it might be okay since I was planning to buy cupcakes and eat them for breakfast. (Weird, I know!) Hence, we went to Gray’s Papaya instead.

Stuffing my face with an all-beef hot dog, covered with mustard and sour kraut at Gray’s Papaya on 72nd and Broadway. (I still prefer Nathan’s of Coney Island instead!)

So, I’m moving tomorrow. Well, actually TODAY. I cannot believe my time in NYC is coming to an end. Sure, I’ll be back for visits, but there’s something about this City that just makes you want to stay forever.
