3 Seeds for Cultivating Writers

The gifts have been exchanged, holiday guests have headed home, the cookies have grown stale, and my mind is starting to drift to school. The time away has helped me reflect on all teachers do for kids. In fact, we do so much for our students we can lose sight of how the smallest of moments make the biggest impacts.

Here are three small seeds that make big impacts with writers in writing workshop. These are my non-negotiables. They don’t require planning. So, no matter how busy we get, we can be sure we are doing great things for the writers in our classrooms!

  1. Beautiful reminder, Deb! Growing writers is an act of compassion and writing ourselves is an act of self-compassion. What a gift!
