Did you catch Terje’s post, “Advice from the Seasoned Writers, Doubt from the Beginner,” last week? It’s a must-read no matter where you are as a writer.  If you missed it, click here to read it now.

We’re hope to meet our goal for the Slice of Life t-shirts we’re selling on Ink to the People. Each t-shirt is $20. All of the proceeds from the shirt will benefit the Pajama Program.  The Pajama Program’s mission:

Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These children live in various situations including group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. Some of the children we serve are living with their families below the poverty level, in desperate need of food, clothing and shelter. (Retrieved on 8/29/14 from pajamaprogram.org.)

SOL T-Shirt on Ink to the People

 

Last night we got together via Google Hangout to plan our upcoming NCTE session, “Tools to Build a Culture of Writing Through Story.” Five of us (Unfortunately Beth can’t make it this year!) will be presenting on Saturday, November 22nd at 9:30 a.m.  Click here for more information on our session.  

As in the past, we’ll host a Slicer gathering.  Since last year’s breakfast gathering felt rushed, we’ll probably do dinner on Friday or Saturday night. Watch for specific details in the next few weeks.  Until then, please let us know if you’ll be at NCTE too.

  34. Okay, I’m going to try again this year – I’ve set up a wordpress blog and want to participate in SOL on Tuesdays, and I still need to learn how to post my entries from my blog to the SOL. Could you provide basic, detailed, step-by-step directions so I can learn how to make that connection.
