This past weekend, Responsive Classroom sponsored a mini-challenge for any new participants of the Slice of Life Story Challenge. New Slicers were asked to leave a comment on this post identifying a fellow Slicer who has inspired them to keep writing. We used a random number generator to choose a winner. The random number was 1, so congratulations to:
Angela (peteacher1), who is blogging over at Crotty Kid!
Angela won 2 books, donated by Responsive Classroom: The Power of Our Words by Paula Denton, EdD and The Language of Learning by Margaret Berry Wilson.
Here is Angela’s comment:
Angela named Brittany (bbutler627) as her inspiration. You can find Brittany over at Butler’s Bin. She won an e-book copy of Energizers by Susan Lattanzi Roser, also donated by Responsive Classroom!
Thank you, Angela and Brittany, for participating in the SOLSC, and congratulations!

Oh wow! Thank you! Angela and I are having a lot of fun as new slicers here! She’s my best audience as she is to so many of us here. We nominated each other unintentionally so we both win! I so appreciate the shout-outs from Sara, Adrienne, and Katie as I’m just seeing them now! So nice! This has been a really rewarding experience. Thank you immensely to Dana for leading us here. We are all better writers, teachers, colleagues and now friends because of it!

Yay! Thanks so much to so many…Dana who set everything up for the district for this Challenge. Carrie for encouraging me to even begin slicing and for allowing me to share my writing experiences with her daily. Brittany for giving me a reason to even write for this particular giveaway. Your writing is so inspiriting to everyone who has read it. Then, to all of my co-workers…I have learned so much about you and it’s been so fun to do so. You have also allowed me to learn from you. You have all been so kind to read my slices and comment. Thank you as it helps me become a better writer. Same goes to other Slice of Life participants whom I have never had to pleasure of meeting. You, too, inspired me by your comments and also just by reading my posts. So thank you to all! You are AMAZING!!
