Check back on Thursday, 4/2 regarding the giveaways.
Come back every Tuesday for the weekly Slice of Life Story Challenge! We look forward to having you continue to be part of this community.
I am a literacy consultant who has spent the past dozen years working with teachers to improve the teaching of writing in their classrooms. While I work with teachers and students in grades K-6, I'm a former fourth and fifth-grade teacher so I have a passion for working with upper elementary students.
I'm the author of Craft Moves (Stenhouse Publishers, 2016) and the co-author of Jump Into Writing (Zaner-Bloser, 2021), Welcome to Writing Workshop (Stenhouse Publishers, 2019), and Day By Day (Stenhouse, 2010).
Wow, the end of our second challenge! I haven’t caught up with everyone’s blogs yet, but I’m still plugging away … This was a great push to get me back into writing (I had drifted away from my blog for a while there). I hope I can keep up the pace, maybe not daily, though … We’ll see.
Thanks, everyone, and thanks especially to Stacey and Ruth for inspiring us all!
Parting is such sweet sorrow. I’m sad this Month-Long Challenge is over as much as I’m sorry I threw these boots, http://365in2009.wordpress.com/2009/03/31/soslc-march-2009-challenge-31-of-31/, away in the trash tonight. After you read about the boots you’ll understand that this was hard… hard as ending this today.
Thanks to Ruth and Stacey…you’ve blessed me in more ways than you know. To those who have read my entries, your comments have been very appreciative…thank you!
Thank you fellow SLICERS for your valued feedback! Thankyou for sharing through your writing so much of yourselves as you go about living your fulfilling lives.
I have gained insights and inspiration from your collective thoughts.
Congratulations and sincere thanks to Ruth and Stacey, for initiating this challenging, yet compelling quest. I felt a sense of commitment each day to my fellow writers. It sharpened my awareness, my observations, my thoughts. Like a moth to a flame, I was drawn to the task of composing my daily slice of life and the discipline it required was rewarded each day. The month of March 2009 is now forever captured in words –Wonderful to look back over. I am fully pleased to have participated in such a worthwhile challenge.
Write on everyone!
Three of my students wrote 31 slices and put me to shame (I only wrote 5). Next year…
Here’s the wrap-up:
