A couple of weeks ago I found myself in my parents’ home staring at the inside of the door jam that leads to their laundry room. It still held the markings my father made to it over the course of 20 years with measurements and dates that represented my height at various points in my life. I studied it carefully and recalled the tradition he had of measuring me on my birthday each year. It’s a special one… one I think that’s worthy of writing about this-coming Monday for my MEMOIR MONDAYS Post.
Therefore, if you’re in need of something to help you get started with your writing OR if you just need a little push to get going, then consider thinking about a family ritual that holds meaning or value to you. And then… just write about it and link it to the MEMOIR MONDAYS Post that we’ll have here on August 4th.
Until then, enjoy your weekend and happy writing!
