The Eagle and The Bear is a poem by David J. Pipkin. After having a trying day yesterday, this poem, which seems to be about strength, seemed appropriate for Poetry Friday.

I think I prefer the eagle too. It’s nice to know there are both kinds of strength available.

Condolences on your loss. What a perfect picture of your aunt; what a great way to remember her. Wishing you strength (bear or eagle, take your pick) in the days to come.

I like it. I’d rather be the eagle any day — soaring, rather than destroying.
