I liked the photo I attached to yesterday’s SOLSC Post so much that I tried to replicate it with another photograph of my crystal-like brads (aka: fasteners). Since it’s Poetry Friday, I decided to take another stab at writing an ode, which I haven’t tried since July.
An Ode to the Crystal-Like Brads on My Desk
The clear jar you reside in
holds you tight,
so you do not spill all over the carpet.
You do more than fasten
things together with might,
you decorate and embellish many a portrait.
Many things can you pin
so they look just-right,
dressing up even the most boring leaflet
or packet.
Talk about a draft that is a work in progress!
