Over on Ali’s blog, {A}, she’s been talking about traditions this week. I was inspired to create a list of traditions that follow me into this season. I was wondering about you . . . what are your traditions? Holiday traditions, daily traditions, wedding traditions . . . any kind you feel compelled to share. Just leave a comment — it only takes a matter of minutes! 🙂
PS — Ali had ONE HUNDRED and TWENTY FIVE comments on her post about this topic! Surely we can muster up a few too, right? 🙂

I had to laugh at the question…simply because of what it means to me and my background. Growing up with two households gave the tradition of not having a tradition. Christmas at one house and the next year, Christmas at the other house. It was hard to have “true” traditions. As I’ve gotten older, I long for those traditions. Every Christmas Day, we visit my step-dad’s aunt’s house and her family. So one day out of 365, I must remember names that I use for only six hours. Don’t get me wrong – I love being at their house!
However, MY favorite tradition is going to the dentist on or near my birthday and getting the happy gas while listening to Josh Groban on CD. And yes, it’s just for a cleaning, but oh so relaxing…

We have a goofy birthday tradition where the birthday boy or girl can not speak at all once they have the first bite of cake. If they do, their wish will not come true. The rest of the family temps BB to speak. It’s a lot of fun.

We’re starting many of our own new traditions. One that I’ve come to enjoy is having a Chanukkah Party with Marc’s family. 🙂

Hmmm, I am actually in the process of starting new holiday traditions! My boyfriend and I moved in together in August and are celebrating our first Christmas in the same house. We have been combining our own traditions to make new ones!
