At the end of the school year, as we were helping students make plans for summer reading, third-grade teacher Kelli Banet shared a Summer Writing Toolkit she created for her students-with a little help from NotebookLM. The toolkit is filled with simple, engaging ideas to keep kids writing all summer long. I asked Kelli if I could share some of those ideas with all of you as inspiration for your July slicing. Thank you, Kelli!
So, happy Tuesday!

Using a visual prompt – Ocean Bubble – this week to teach the elements of story structure. It’s so rewarding to write alongside children. I learn so much.
