Earlier this year, I received food writer Bonnie Reichert’s Field & Pantry newsletter. Her piece, “Cooking to Cure Writer’s Block,” resonated with me since I read it when I felt completely stuck as a writer. Maybe you’re feeling stuck today, or perhaps you want to have some sage advice for the next time your spirit is dampened, “making everything heavy and difficult.” Either way, check out her piece!
If you’re planning to attend NCTE and would like to meet up with fellow Slicers, please fill out this form. The co-author team would love to see you in Denver! Regardless of whether you’ll be at NCTE, please leave the link to your slice of life story in the comments section.

Easily among the greatest treasures I’ve ever received. My 2nd grade teacher sent me a copy of the letter that I used to nominate her for Teacher of the Year in 1985. It reminded me, amidst my recent doubts, yes, I am a writer indeed. A 40-yr Old Gift from My 7-Yr Old Self! Thank You, Mrs. Schlegel! – Dr. Carla Michelle Brown * Speaker * author * Educator
