No shadow
No stars
No moon
No care
It only believes
In a pile of dead leaves
And a moon
That’s the color of bone

Tom Waits, ‘November’

    • What a great way to frame an argument for anything you support or don’t support. It definitely grabbed my attention! So….just about everything teachers are now forced to do will kill a love of reading. That makes those read-alouds and shared reading sessions so important”, as well as shopping for books to read” from nondesignated book bins or one titled “Just for Fun!” Or online book reviews that can also be shared orally/aurally with classmates. There are ways around these mandates…we just need to find them and use them!
