Welcome back for another Tuesday Slice of Life Story Challenge!
Are you new to slicing? If so, check out our Slice of Life Story Challenge support page. If you are thinking about joining us, but want to know how this challenge works, just click here. If you’re on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #sol15 on your SOLSC-related tweets. Also, feel free to buy some Slicer Swag while supporting one of our favorite charities — the Pajama Program — by purchasing Slice of Life gifts in our Cafe Press shop.
I am a literacy consultant who focuses on writing workshop. I've been working with K-6 teachers and students since 2009. Prior to that, I was a fourth and fifth-grade teacher in New York City and Rhode Island.
I'm the author of Craft Moves (Stenhouse Publishers, 2016) and the co-author of Jump Into Writing (Zaner-Bloser, 2021), Welcome to Writing Workshop (Stenhouse Publishers, 2019), and Day By Day (Stenhouse, 2010).
I live in Central Pennsylvania with my husband and children. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, doing Pilates, cooking, baking, making ice cream, and reading novels.

With just a few days left before we return to school, I find myself wondering how I can convince my students that they already have authors’ ears, if they will only take time to tune in.
I’m wondering a lot these days about school. And how life is going to change in the next couple weeks as my girls will begin their school journey in kindergarten. Many wonders …
I am starting a project today about the relationship between mothers in law and daughters in law. I hope to dispel some old myths. I hope you will consider joining me. http://haddonmusings.com/2015/08/04
We’re going through a rough patch as a family right now. (I will write about that more in a few weeks once the dust settles, so-to-speak.) Until then, a little piece about wandering aimlessly in the place that will always be home.
Today I finding an effective question to guide our sewing work which will go to my classroom next week.

Ok, I’ve been lazy long enough. It’s time to post a SOL and last week I read Elsie’s post about the ILA conference. I wish I had known we were both attending so we could have met in person.here is my experience with ILA:
