Saturday Reunion

I was on the phone with my friend Christina the other day. I told her I was coming to New York later this month for the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project’s Saturday Reunion.  She hasn’t attended one of the summer institutes before so she was unfamiliar with who was reuniting.  While I think it used to be for folks who attended the summer institutes, it’s open to all teachers.  It’s a fantastic day filled with workshops led by the staff of the TCRWP.  And this year, to start the day off, there’s a keynote by Pam Munoz Ryan.  (I heard her speak at T.C. three summers ago and she was fantastic.  A speech by Ryan is NOT to be missed!)

This year’s Saturday Reunion will be held on Saturday, March 24th.  Click here to view a flier about the event.

Are you thinking about attending the Saturday Reunion?  If so, please leave a comment below.

  1. I have also been going since ’02 and have been to summer institutes since ’03 – 10 years sure goes quickly. It will be great to walk the halls of Horace Mann again, see old friends, meet new ones and learn a thing or two, or three . . . about the teaching or reading and writing.

  2. I am also going. I was transferred this year- teaching math exclusively- but I have been incorporating envisionment into the teaching of word problems. I will continue to attend these no matter what subject I teach. The feed me professionally.

  3. I will be going to the Saturday Reunion. I have been going for the past 10 years I believe. I love going! I have attended 8 summer institutes and 2 coaching institutes, but the Saturday reunions are the best one day shot in the arm adrenaline pumping experience. I look forward to them every spring.
