  1. When the snooze on my Hello Kitty alarm clock this morning broke my alltime record of twelve hits, I realized that maybe I’ve reached the point in my live when I should give up the late late night movies.

Although I managed to pull on the shorts I wore yesterday and haul my dangling derriere to the local school track, I felt the call of my comfy bed the entire way. “Must be magnets,” I thought instead of my morning mantra of “I think I can; I think I can” which must have been wacked off the nightstand along with the clock. But regardless, I pushed forward.

My moment almost turned to tears. Students were hovering around the fence edges. Imagine the nerve! Students at a school track! I promised myself when I started this insanity that I would not subject myself to the torture of being the butt of someone’s joke. (Both literally and figuratively.) But alas, I was able to continue. They walked into the weight-lifting room. Hurray for the warm-up routines of the young! (Their coaches probably saw me.)

Despite my delays, I made it. I finished my daily required exercise and I made it this morning around and around that track at my pace. However, I’m still amazed how much harder each day is to make that commitment. Maybe tomorrow will be easier.
