The First “Slice of Life Story Challenge” of December
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for the Slice of Life Story Challenge. Mr. Linky is down (again — seems to be a common theme) so please link your Slice of Life Story to this post by leaving a comment. If you leave the URL of your Slice, people can click on the comments and find your post easily… forever (unlike Mr. Linky, which isn’t forever!).

I am a literacy consultant who has spent the past dozen years working with teachers to improve the teaching of writing in their classrooms. While I work with teachers and students in grades K-6, I'm a former fourth and fifth-grade teacher so I have a passion for working with upper elementary students.
I'm the author of Craft Moves (Stenhouse Publishers, 2016) and the co-author of Jump Into Writing (Zaner-Bloser, 2021), Welcome to Writing Workshop (Stenhouse Publishers, 2019), and Day By Day (Stenhouse, 2010).

Hi, Stacey! Sorry to hear Mr. Linky’s under the weather. I wrote a quick slice today about an encounter with a man on a subway platform the other night. I’m still thinking about him two days later, kicking myself a little for not extending our encounter …
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
my slice for today
