Ruth’s SOLS: October.

Here’s a Slice of Life that I can hardly wait to experience . . . (Is it a SOLS if it’s yet to come?  I suppose, since I’ve experienced it in the past!)

I walk outside and around me I hear the last of the birds waiting to fly to warmer places.  As my walk continues, the crunch of leaves, which at first seemed so loud to my ears, becomes gentle and I almost don’t hear it anymore.  I look up to see one of my favorite images:  Bright trees, their leaves the color of fire, set against the clear, gentle blue October sky.  Autumn is here and I can relax.  I can rest.  I can savor the moments.

  1. Mmm … I love walking in fall, too … but I’m really going to miss the summer. I had to work so hard this summer, I didn’t get nearly enough time outdoors. I think autumn might be my favorite season, though. Thanks for pushing my thoughts ahead a little to the more relaxed and crisp time to come!
