A Class

With some of my hard-earned (wink, wink) birthday money, I decided to sign up for a class to fuel my creativity and help me get a bit of perspective on this whole parenting, living, teaching ride that I’m on.  The class is called HAVE MORE FUN and is hosted on Big Picture Scrapbooking.  I’m a bit excited about it, even though the first week I was on vacation and this week I was laid up with a bit of unexpected gallbladder surgery.  (That explains my MIA here in the blog-o-sphere, right?)

Anyway, in the welcome message, teacher and host extraordinaire, Stacy Julian, referenced Kevin Carroll’s Adult Resignation.  After keeping it to myself for a few weeks, I feel the need to share it here.  Perhaps you’d like to print a copy and keep it handy as you enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

It begins:

I am officially hereby tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an eight-year-old again . . .

I want to believe that anything is possible.  I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.  I want to live simple again . . .

  1. That was all so true i’m only 19 and I feel that it would be great to be back in middle or elementary school. Everything was so simple and fun. Great times.

  2. You will love Edward’s Eyes. I went to the TCRWP Reading Institute a few weeks ago and we read it as a part of our small group instruction. She actually spoke at the Project and gave some great insight behind why she wrote the book. It’s got some great crafts in it. I’m definitely using it for one of my Read Alouds this year.

    P.S.
I love your blog and sent it out to several teachers I work with. They all love it too!
