Yesterday was my birthday and I received two writer’s notebooks: one from my best friend and one from one of my students. (Do you think people realize I’m obsessed with writing? I think yes!)
The pink and brown notebook that my best friend got me started with a Renee Duval poem entitled “A Best Friend.” Lovely! Then, she encouraged me to use the pens (and stickers) to keep going by writing more poetry.
The pink and green notebook that my student got me is “so you can write ideas in it.” She has a similar one, which I told her I thought was cute, so she got me one for my birthday. How sweet is that? (Totally unnecessary, but extremely thoughtful of a ten year old, right?)
