Slice of Life Story Challenge

Day 30 of the March SOLSC #SOL26

Write. Share. Give.

The finish line is in sight! As you write and post today, it’s a great time to begin reflecting on your writing and the goals you’ve accomplished this month! Remember to share the link to your blog in the comments, and comment on at least three other Slicers’ stories.

BE INSPIRED

Some slices get right to the heart of this month’s challenge: a small moment, captured in words, written as much to allow the writer to capture a little sliver of life as to share with readers.

Today’s Be Inspired post, written by Alyssa Shea on her blog, Limitlyss Thoughts, is exactly this kind of story. When I first read her slice, “Embracing the Mess,” I was immediately sucked into her descriptions of an everyday moment spent feeding her young daughter. Her words and phrases make the slice feel like a children’s picture book as she paints a picture of the joy in a mess.

As you write today, consider how your words can weave something extraordinary out of the seemingly ordinary!

SUPPORT

If you encounter any issues with non-working links, problems with your permalink, or a permalink causing an image to appear in the comment section, our Slicer Troubleshooting Team is here to help. The team comprises four experienced Slicers: Glenda Funk, Fran McCrackin, Joanne Toft, and Peter von Euler. (Click here for a short tutorial to help you find your permalink and link your slice-of-life story to this post.)

  1. After almost three weeks away recovering from surgery, I’m glad to be back for the last two days of the slice of life story challenge, even though I’m still healing.
In our house, March Madness is more than just basketball. It’s a family competition where brackets settle more than just who wins. This year, a surprising comeback and one big shot changed the whole contest and our spring plans. https://raisealithuman.wordpress.com/2026/03/29/march-madness/
