It’s day 23 of our 31-day writing challenge! Join us by writing your slice of life story, sharing the link in the comments, and commenting on at least three other Slicers’ stories.
BE INSPIRED
Community is everything, whether you’re writing with people that you’ve never met that are starting to feel like friends or you’re writing alongside real life friends and colleagues. I’m personally fortunate to have several friends from my school district that I get to connect with through story every March. Over the next three days, I am going to highlight some of my pals!
Erika, who writes at Writing to Learn, Learning to Write, has had a dedicated plan for attacking the challenge this year, choosing a different object to write about each day. This is certainly an idea that can spark a post or two! Her post, Kitchen Table, highlights the way objects in our lives can become symbols of who we are and what we value.
SUPPORT
If you encounter any issues with non-working links, problems with your permalink, or a permalink causing an image to appear in the comment section, our Slicer Troubleshooting Team is here to help. The team comprises four experienced Slicers: Glenda Funk, Fran McCrackin, Joanne Toft, and Peter von Euler. (Click here for a short tutorial to help you find your permalink and link your slice-of-life story to this post.)
For inquiries, please email us rather than leaving them in the comments below or on social media. We appreciate your patience as we receive a high volume of emails in the early days of the challenge. We will respond to all emails promptly.

Do not read this post if you like the potus or think irreverence is reason to clutch pearls because I’ve rewritten a hymn in response to something Orangey said. “What a Day That Will Be: Glenda’s Version”: https://glendafunk.wordpress.com/2026/03/22/what-a-day-that-will-be-glendas-version-solsc26-23-31/
