Write. Share. Give.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Each day’s “Call for Slice of Life Stories” opens at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. If it’s before midnight in New York, post your story link on that day’s post. After midnight, use the new day’s post. Comments usually close after 24 hours, but may stay open a bit longer if our team needs more time.

BE INSPIRED

Writers, we’re just about coming in to the home stretch of the Slice of Life Challenge. If you’re anything like me, you may be looking around for what to write about.

One of the things I love about writing is how easily it integrates what we know across subject matter or discipline. That’s where David Grossman and his blog, Connect, Create, Inspire come in. As a high school science teacher, Grossman has a wealth of knowledge to draw from. One of his poems, “This I Know,” seamlessly blends his world view with science knowledge.

Maybe you’re an expert at cooking, or car mechanics, or pottery, or mathematics. What are some ways you might bring that knowledge into your writing? Give it a go!
