  • What a joy it is to start this challenge with the slower pace of a weekend! Today I’m focusing on reading and commenting on newer Slicers’ posts. If you’re an experienced Slicer, please consider joining me in welcoming them to this community. New Slicers, don’t forget to let us know you’re new to the challenge when you share your link today.
  • Remember to make sure your blog post allows comments! One of the best parts of this community is the feedback and encouragement we give to each other. If you didn’t receive any comments yesterday, please check your settings to make sure you allow commenting.
  • Reminder: The daily “Call for Slice of Life Stories” starts at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (New York time zone). We consider the day to end at midnight Eastern Time because we have participants from six continents. Comments can close as early as midnight the next day after the post has been live for 24 hours. Usually, the daily call for slice-of-life stories stays open until the following day because our co-author team is asleep at midnight. If you share your slice-of-life story link after 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, please post it in the next day’s call for slice-of-life stories.
  • Multi-Lit Fridays are back this year! Participants are encouraged to blog in another language. The first Multi-Lit Friday will be on March 7.

Longtime Slicer Margaret Simon recently wrote about her feelings leading up to the March Slice of Life Story Challenge in her post “Slice of Life: March is Around the Bend.” Her words really resonate as she writes:

Writing out loud for an audience makes us vulnerable, yes, but it also makes us strong and brave.

As you enter this second day of the March challenge, embrace the vulnerability; it truly will make you strong and brave.

        Please type your comments on the slicer’s actual post. Click their link, and then, in order to post a comment on their blog, you might have to click on the title of their entry. When you do that, you’ll see a window below their entry where you can leave your response. Thanks.
