“The role of a writer is not to say what we can all say, but what we are unable to say.”
― Anaïs Nin
It is time to write your Slice, share your link, and give some comments to (at least three) other slicers. Our writing community is built on the support and encouragement we offer each other every Tuesday. Here’s to writing, linking, sharing feedback, and enjoying the slices of each others’ lives!

I teach Writing Workshop, Language Arts and Social Studies to sixth graders at a middle school in suburban New Jersey. This blog is my attempt to capture all the "stuff" that goes into my teaching life - the planning, the dreaming, the reading, the preparing, the hoping and (above all) the kids.
Please note that the content of this blog is my own. It does not reflect the opinions of my employer.

I identify with your continuing to make the preparations while honoring your need to not quite commit 100% yet. I rejoined the gym this week and the only reason I was able to do it was to promise myself that I would go at least twice a month to feel fine about the financial investment. Lofty goals are for the young.

The captcha images are too tough for me to decode… and I’ve tried a few of them. (Funny how I got two words on yours and two sets of numbers on other people’s blogs today. The numbers, however, were much easier.)
Anyway, what a treat it is to slow down and enjoy some time with your daughter. Happy holidays, Amanda!
