Writing Streak Giveaway

If you’re a Slicer who has written for at least ten consecutive days (including today), then this giveaway is for you!  Today’s giveaway is a copy of Thomas Newkirk’s 2009 book, Holding On to Good Ideas in a Time of Bad Ones: Six Literacy Principles Worth Fighting For.  Many thanks to Heinemann for sponsoring a giveaway of Newkirk’s book.

To enter your name for the giveaway of this book, just leave a comment on THIS POST anytime today and through 9 a.m. EDT tomorrow, 3/16/12.  Be sure to leave the number of days you’ve blogged (and subsequently linked to on the daily calls for slice of life stories) for since the month-long challenge began.  In addition, please leave the URL of your blog (e.g., https://twowritingteachers.wordpress.com).

The winner of Newkirk’s book will be announced, after a random drawing takes place, tomorrow.

UPDATED @ 11:25 a.m.: Please do not leave the link to your slice of life story here.  Kindly go to Ruth’s post for today [or tomorrow (depending on what day you’re reading this post)] to leave the unique URL to your slice.

  1. Oops,
    My site is

You can also get there by clicking on my name, but I wanted to make sure you got the site name. ( And please delete one of my comments, so I don’t have two “tickets” in the drawing).

  2. I joined in on the challenge to motivate myself to make a habit of writing every day, and so far I have kept up! 15/15. I just have to tell you that this is the most fun I have ever had writing! I am finding it is like a puzzle. I love the creativity. I love the challenge, and I am addicted to the comments. Is there a 12-step program for slicers in April?

  3. I’ve written each day – so 15 total – although I had trouble posting one day so I’m hoping that one “stuck”. This book is new to me, looks interesting and useful. Thanks for facilitating this project, it’s really pushed me to write each day and I wasn’t doing that at all…
