Ahh, the comfort of my office. I sit here, with one of my favorite scents permeating the room – mandarin cranberry – the soft glow of my lamps and the ticking of my clock all make me feel welcome. My eyes pause on all the things which make this space mine — a Scott Mutter image; an Ali Edwards Life Art poster; the Eight Principles of Fun; framed photographs; quotes; my collection of A’s; books peeking out of all kinds of spaces. And I feel at home in my work place.
People greet me, genuinely glad to see me. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here – speeding in and out before and after school, grabbing the items I need, dropping off the ones I don’t. My work revolves around many schools and my office is sometimes just a place to exchange needed materials. Today, though, I have two hours to work out of my office.
I’m reminded how fortunate I am to have an office that feels as comfortable as home and colleagues that make work feel like a hobby. I hope my own children will be able to count these same blessing for themselves someday.

yes, i mean literally a collection of A.’s . . . for my last name. they are throughout my “real” home & have spilled into my office too. i love ’em!
about a year ago, i blogged a bit about my office . . . although things have changed, it’ll give you an idea (since i won’t be back to my “haven” for another week or so! to take updated photos.)

I love ending lines. A comfortable office is a joy; colleagues that make work fun; wishing the blessings on to your children. 🙂
