ruth’s wn entry: stories matter

One of the ways I’ve used this summer to grow is by noticing the small stories that are creating my life. These stories matter. Little did I know what an impact these little everyday stories would make on me not only as a person, but as an educator too.

Today in my writer’s notebook I made this list:

Why Stories Matter

1. They connect people.

2. They help make sense of the world.

3. They help make sense of the bundle of emotions whirling around inside me.

4. They influence actions.

5. They give hope.

6. They rejuvenate, refresh, and revitalize.

7. They create significance in one’s life.
