Welcome back, Slicers! I’m glad you’ve stopped by to share a slice of your life with our writing community today.
Please post a permalink to your slice of life story in the comments section of this post. Then click and comment on at least three other Slicers’ writing.
Here’s some writerly inspiration for you (in case you need it):
I am a literacy consultant who focuses on writing workshop. I've been working with K-6 teachers and students since 2009. Prior to that, I was a fourth and fifth-grade teacher in New York City and Rhode Island.
I'm the author of Craft Moves (Stenhouse Publishers, 2016) and the co-author of Jump Into Writing (Zaner-Bloser, 2021), Welcome to Writing Workshop (Stenhouse Publishers, 2019), and Day By Day (Stenhouse, 2010).
I live in Central Pennsylvania with my husband and children. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, doing Pilates, cooking, baking, making ice cream, and reading novels.

Hi SOL! Posting super late but I hope some of you will read about the One Mistake Not Avoid This School Year at http://wp.me/p6fpbi-nv – now off to read your writing before bed!
Struggling with my own issues but right now broken up over an old acquaintances diagnosis of Huntington’s. She lost her mother to it at a young age and now has a baby of her own.
Today I took a fall–oh, the irony of a physical fall to make me realize that life is so metaphorical and blogworthy: https://meanderingmaya.wordpress.com/2015/08/18/making-sense-of-the-fall/
After a two week hiatus and a new school year, I’m trying to make myself blog somewhere other than school…today’s fall inspired me.
Inspired by a twitter post, I wrote, read the Pathway checklist, annotated my writing based on the checklist and then named my strengths and set a writing goal. Now looking forward to doing same process with my 3rd graders during Writing Workshop!
