“Writing is like breathing, it’s possible to learn to do it well, but the point is to do it no matter what.”
― Julia Cameron, The Right to Write: An Invitation and Initiation into the Writing Life
And, just a quick reminder about the SOL dinner:
We’ll be dining at McLoone’s Pier House on Saturday evening, 11/22. RSVP to Stacey via e-mail [stacey {at} staceyshubitz {dot} com] by October 31st if you plan to attend. She will email you back with the address and time.
FAQ’s
- May I come if I only slice in March, but not year-round?
- Yes!
- What should I bring?
- This is a dutch treat dinner, so please bring cash. This makes it easier on the server when it comes time to divvy up the check.
- I’m attending the conference with a colleague who doesn’t take part in theSOLSC. May I bring him/her?
- As long as s/he starts slicing by the end of October, then s/he is welcome. We’re an inclusive group, but we don’t want the dinner to get too big. Therefore, we’re trying to limit it to people who regularly take part in the year-round and/or March challenges.
Also, five (of the six) of us will be presenting at NCTE on Saturday morning, 11/22. We hope you’ll be able to join us for our session at 9:30 a.m. Here’s more information about our round table session:

I am a lover of Halloween and all that goes into it to make the day a memorable one for children.
