How many slices did you write and link to?

This is the 5th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge Prize Round-up. Please read this entire post carefully before leaving a comment.

Can you believe the 5th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge is history? I’m not sure about you, but March flew by for me!

There are 30 prizes up for grabs
.  Since there are more than 30 people who sliced and linked for the entire month, I will only enter the people who comment on this post into the prize drawing.

You must comment on this post by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday, April 2nd, to be entered into our prize drawing.  The information you provide me will help me cross-check your Slices, using our user interface, with greater ease.

Specifics about the format of your SOLSC round-up follow below.  But before I get to that, I want to explain why I’m asking for your geographic location.  First, a few of the prizes donated are only going to be shipped to Slicers in the USA and Canada. (Don’t worry if you’re international!  There are plenty of prizes that can be shipped overseas.)  Second, the All Write Consortium donated a free registration to their summer institute, which is June 21 – 22nd, 2012 in Warsaw, Indiana.  If you’re interested in attending the All Write Summer Institute (NOTE: You will have to pay for your own travel and meal expenses.), then please leave that information in the text of your comment as well*.  If you choose not to leave your geographic location on this post, but sliced and linked properly for all 31 days of the Challenge, then your name will only be entered into the prize drawings for items that can be shipped to everyone.

Please leave your comment with the following information (customized with your info, of course):

Name:  Stacey Shubitz/User Name for SOLSC: Stacey^

My blog URL for the SOLSC: http://reflectionsofamommy.wordpress.com

Geographic Location: Pennsylvania (USA)

Please enter me for the drawing for the All-Write Institute.*

I sliced for 31 days.  I linked to the daily calls for slices every day in March~.

^= You may leave your full name and/or username.

~= If you had trouble linking your Slice of Life Story on March 14th or 15th, then please note that in your comment.  If that was the case, then your comment should look like this:

Name:  Stacey Shubitz/User Name for SOLSC: Stacey

My blog URL for the SOLSC: http://reflectionsofamommy.wordpress.com

Geographic Location: Pennsylvania (USA)

Please enter me for the drawing for the All-Write Institute.

I sliced for 31 days.  I linked my Slice of Life Stories on the daily calls everyday in March, except March 14th and/or March 15th.

I will be doing random drawings, based on the comments left on this post, later this week.  Since the holiday of Passover is coming, I cannot promise I will have the drawings done this week.  Most likely the prize announcements will be posted next week. Therefore, be sure to check back daily.

Finally, the Slice of Life Story Challenge goes back to being a weekly writing challenge starting on Tuesday, April 3rd.  I hope you’ll join in for the weekly challenge!

  1. Thank you Ruth and Stacey for another wonderful month of writing. I do not want to be entered in the prize drawings, I have had my share of prizes in years past and have been excited to meet so many new writers this year. That has been my prize.
I do however plan to keep writing, and will be back on Tuesdays for more slicing.
Also, Ali Edwards is doing the Week in a Life challenge at the end of April – a great next step for slicers.

I sliced for 31 days. However, on March 19, I was unable to post my entry at 9:15 West Coast time. I posted it and my March 20 post on March 20. (After that I made sure to post before midnight East Coast time.)

What an incredible experience! Thank you for providing this opportunity for me to write and share my thinking with so many.

I sliced 31 days, but linked twice in one day due to thinking cutoff was 12pm my time zone and I missed it. So if that doesn’t put me in the drawing list for prizes, that is ok.
Thanks again for another great challenge.

This year was thrilliing! I learned so much through playing with words. I created more poetry and tried different structures in my posts. The connections I made has strengthened my writing life. Thank you so much for hosting again. I’ll see you Tuesday.

I sliced for 31 days. I linked to the daily calls for slices every day in March.

Thank you so much for organizing this and managing this challenge. I started this blog several years ago to “practice what I preach” and now I finally have done so. I am pretty sure I have already won the biggest prize of them all: a reminder of the rewards and challenges of writing every day.

Ruth and Stacey, I know that this required one or both of you to keep late nights every night in March. I really appreciate your sacrifice. I hope you get some rest in April.

Fellow posters, it has been delightful. Thanks for a great experience!

  56. I was thinking: you should have a post at the end for folks to reflect o the experience, so that all of those reflections get tied together. Just an idea for next year …. (most folks did that anyway at some point)

Here is my post-Slice reflection: http://dogtrax.edublogs.org/2012/04/01/slice-of-life-and-so-it-ends-sort-of/

  57. Ruth and Stacy,
Thank you for the challenge. I wasn’t sure how it would go, but it went well and I feel like I have accomplished something. I never would have tried it without this amazing community. Thank you for your leadership, facilitation, and encouragement.

Congratulations and sincere thanks again go to Ruth and Stacy, for initiating this challenging, yet compelling quest. Like a moth to a flame, I find myself drawn to the task of composing my daily slice of life and the discipline required is rewarded each day. Sincere thanks to my fellow SLICERS as well for their valued words.
