Better late than never. Yes, this is the first I am sitting down at the computer since I left the house this morning. It’s been a full day, but very good.

Before the drawing, thanks for joining in and leaving comments this week. I think the power of blogging is bringing many voices together. I love the community that has developed here and thank you for sharing your thoughts this week.

So, I thought I’d be able to use RANDOM.ORG to generate a winner and then post an image from the “drawing” so you would know it was official and honest. I’m not able to find a way to do that (without paying), so you are just going to have to trust me.

I used “so what?” in my conferences with fifth graders. It really made them think about what they were writing, especially to see if what they were writing related to what they thought was their topic.

I like the Read Leaf in Springville, Utah. I go to Barnes and Noble more frequently because it’s closer, and I like it, too, but I like the intimacy of a small bookstore with owners who know all (or almost all) the books and really seem to love books. When I have the time to indulge in book browsing, that is the store I like.
