The Reading Zone started using Scribd as a way to share documents she created with her blog readers. Even though I’m partial to Box.net for file sharing with my colleagues, I thought I’d give Scribd, which has a social networking component, a try. I’m delighted I did!
Scribd turns documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, ppts, and more into iPaper Documents easily. All you have to do is e-mail your attachment to Scribd. Within seconds the attachment is turned into iPaper which can be e-mailed to others or embedded on a web page.
Here are three ways I’m going to use Scribd:
1. As a way to share files with TWT Readers.
2. With parents/students on my classroom’s blog.
3. As a means to share .docx and .pptx files with colleagues who don’t have Office 2007.
