Summer Goals Meme

Megan from Read, Read, Read tagged Ruth and I for a summer goals meme. I guess I’ll get to it for the Stacey part of “Stacey at Ruth at Two Writing Teachers.”

Here are my honest-to-goodness summer goals:

1. To spend time with my family.
2. To submit at least one manuscript to a publisher by the end of this summer.
3. To read some books that have nothing to do with teaching (e.g., Marley and Me, Certain Girls and the newest Nicholas Sparks book).
4. To get ready for NEATE and NCTE.
5. To wear sunscreen each and every time I go out in the sun.

    2. Way to go, girl! You get at it… and bring your tissues for Marley and Me. I read the version, Marley a Dog Like No Other and bawled my eyes out. Then my class wanted me to read it aloud and I bawled a again right there in the class in front of 25 fifth graders and a visiting teacher 😦

    3. I LOOOOOOOOVED Marley & Me. I was so sad when the book was done. It was one of those where I read a little bit each night to make it last.
