I’m hosting Seders for the first time in my life this Passover. Therefore, my mind has been on recipes lately (and the quest to find a recipe for the “perfect” charoset). Therefore, I was surprised to learn about a poetic form called a “Recipe Poem,” which uses the language found in cookbooks.
If you need poetic inspiration today, then try a recipe poem for the first day of this week-long challenge. If you do this, remember that you need ingredients and directions. Finally, check out Wild Rose Reader’s Blog to see some work she did around recipe poems a few days ago.
Please link your post to this one by using Mr. Linky so others can read and comment on your poem.

Stacey,
Thanks for the link to my ricipe poems posts. I look forward to reading all the poems written for your One Week Poetry Challenge.
You may want to attempt writing a ring/drum/blanket poem. Check out the interview with children’s poet Janet Wong that I posted at Wild Rose Reader on Friday, April 11th. You’ll see her, my, and three other ring/drum/blanket poems there.
