Ruth’s SOLC: I want chocolate milk!

Nearing the end of dinner, our two year old announced, “I WANT CHO-CO-LATE MILK.”

We looked at one another and then said to him, “How do polite boys ask?”

“I WANT CHO-CO-LATE MILK NOW . . . PUH-LEEEEEEZ!”

Another parental unit look was exchanged, giving the two year old, time to regain his composure, flash a super sweet smile and say, “Please milk?” and give another super sweet (well, cheesy) smile.

Andy filled his milk cup and set it on the table in front of him.

“Thank you,” said the polite two year old as he picked it up and took a big swig.

Then bang — the milk cup hit the table and the two year old said, “I SAID CHO-CO-LATE MILK!”

“Too bad little guy, it’s regular milk.”

“Okay, thanks anyway,” and the sweet smile returned as we finished our meal.

During the rough spots of the day (like right now), I want to remember these slices of life.
